Master Gardeners offer fall gardening class | General | – High Plains Journal

The Cleveland County Master Gardener Association will be having a free fall gardening class in addition to regular tours July 22 at 10 a.m. It may seem early, but it is time to think about another round of vegetable planting. Fall is a great time to grow veggies in Oklahoma. The class will be held in Room “C,” then move to our Demonstration and Teaching Garden, both located at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Norman.

Planting a fall garden can give you another chance to grow crops such as broccoli, cauliflower, greens, beans, lettuce and other cool-season favorites. Learn about effectively growing vegetables in a small garden space. We will discuss timing, tips, and tricks for success. Don’t forget to visit the Demonstration and Teaching Garden on tour days, every Saturday morning during the Farm Market from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Ask the Master Gardener tour guides to see the Native American, Oklahoma Native, Butterfly, Tropical or Herb gardens. The Demonstration and Teaching Garden is located on the southwest corner of the Cleveland County Fair Grounds, Norman. For more information, call 405-321-4774.
